IPCC at the Bonn Climate Change conference (SB and SBSTA 58 )

The IPCC is actively participating in the 58th session of the Subsidiary Bodies of the UNFCCC (SB58) from 5 to 15 June 2023 at the World Conference Center Bonn in Germany. IPCC’s focus is presenting the main findings of the Synthesis Report and the whole of the Sixth Assessment Report with the aim of contributing to the Global Stocktake Technical Dialogues –  a prelude to the first Global Stocktake scheduled to take place at this year’s UNFCCC conference in Dubai.

On 10 May 2023, the Joint SBSTA-IPCC Working Group met to finalize the plans for the activities. The IPCC is taking part throughout the conference, including in these:

SBSTA Special event on AR6 Synthesis Report

Following the opening of the SB meetings on 5 June 2023, the IPCC presented the Synthesis Report of the Sixth Assessment Report at a SBSTA special event on the report.

IPCC-UNFCCC side event on IPCC Inventory software

On 6 June, IPCC’s Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories presented the latest developments of the IPCC Inventory Software for the National Greenhouse Gas Inventories at a side event organized together with the Secretariat of the UNFCCC.

In-session technical workshop on findings on emission metrics contained in the Sixth Assessment Report

On 7 June, the IPCC presented to SBSTA 58 findings on emission metrics contained in its Sixth Assessment Report at an in-session technical workshop as requested at the SBSTA 57 (November 2022).
