Isa Merritt serves as an Administrative Coordinator for both the USGCRP National Coordination Office and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Working Group III Technical Support Unit. In this role, she provides administrative and logistical support for federal and international global change research and assessment.

Prior to joining USGCRP, Isa was a Citizens’ Climate Lobby Fellow, where she provided a platform for members of marginalized communities to act and voice their roles in the climate crisis. She also worked as an Environmental Policy Researcher with the Chesapeake Climate Action Network to make evidence-based policy recommendations about obstacles to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Virginia.

In addition, Isa is interested in corporate and industrial sustainability, international and environmental law, permaculture, green infrastructure, and intersectionality as it relates to environmental racism.

Isa holds a B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, with a concentration in International Relations and minors in Environmental Studies and Philosophy.
