Shreya is based in Kolkata and is currently working as a Scientist in IPCC-WG-III Technical Support Unit. Shreya’s research interests include emission trend analysis, sustainability and co-benefits analysis of various adaptation and mitigation options. She is particularly passionate about emission mitigation from the agricultural sector. She has worked as a Contributing Author in Chapter 5 of the IPCC Special Report 1.5 and WRI ocean report- The Ocean as a Solution to Climate Change: Five Opportunities for Action. In addition to supporting IPCC, Shreya is an exchange scholar at the Technical University, Freiberg, Germany funded by the UGC-DAAD-PPP 2019-2021 working on mapping of co-benefits from CDM projects in India with the SDGs. Prior to joining IPCC, for a short while, she has worked as a Business Analyst with Wipro Technologies (India) and was a Summer Intern at Reserve Bank of India (Kolkata).
She has submitted her Ph.D. thesis on “Economics of Greenhouse Gas Emission Mitigation: A Study of the Indian Agricultural Sector” at the Department of Economics, Jadavpur University, India on November 2, 2020. She has a Masters degree in Economics from Jadavpur University, 2015.
